When I first started trading, I found myself lost in the sea of information that was out there. I was willing to take advice from anyone who would give it - whether it was credible or not. Like most new traders and investors, I based many of my decisions on rash emotional logic, rather than using sound trading judgment.
I was losing money, and doing it quickly. What was I missing?
As I continued to fail in my trading, I took my first step toward profitability - I hit the books. I went to the nearest library and took out every book on the stock market I could find. I learned about Dow theory, technical analysis, indicators... you name it. Despite all I learned, I was still struggling. I wasn't lost anymore, but I couldn't seem to put the pieces together.
That's when I figured out that knowing the game simply isn't enough. Without the right strategies and plenty of practice, having all the tools will do you no good.
